Firstly, a very warm welcome to the new Cycle Social blog.
Here you'll find information about new developments on the site and have an opportunity to tell us what you like, what you don't and what you would like to see us do more of.
To kick things off, we thought we'd bring you up to date with the latest news.
The sharp eyed among you will have noticed that we have moved away from the 'beta' version of the site as we're now past the point of it bedding in and are happy with the overall look, feel, and stability. We hope you are too.
A further development in the growth of Cycle Social is the addition to the team of Ben Ayers. He's from the cycling social network meandmybicycle and will work with us to promote Cycle Social and help make it the leading cycling social network for the UK.
Cycle Social will be the primary focus for all of us but we have made a few changes to meandmybicycle and offered UK members the chance to sign up to Cycle Social as well.
We're looking forward to this new direction, which none of us really expected but which we all hope will be of benefit to everyone. Cycle Social will remain the UK cyclists' social network while meandmybicycle will continue to grow as a global cycling community.
You will see some new features on Cycle Social in the coming weeks and months. We're really excited to announce that we've been granted an interview with Olympic gold medal winner Nicole Cooke. Instead of doing the interview ourselves, we thought it would be fun for members to pose the questions. Check out the forum for the details and a chance to win a signed copy of Nicole's book - just for posing a question!
We've also decided to add a news section to the site, covering everything from new products to changes in the law that could affect our growing user base.
Thanks to all of you who have sent ideas and words of support as we have grown. It's very much appreciated and we look forward to continuing to build and develop the website for us all, for the future. Feedback is always welcome so please send it our way via the forum or here on this blog.
Finally, if you would even more UK cycling tidbits and want up to the minute info on the website then you can follow the Cycle Social Twitter feed http://twitter.com/cyclesocial.
Happy riding.
